After just a few hours of sleep Luigi and Annalisa took me to the train station in Massafra, so I could take the train to Taranto, Salerno and further to Catania. In sum it was a beautiful 13 hours train-trip through the beauty of southern Italy. Especially the ride from Salerno to Catania was great. Several hours right next to the sea with a beautiful view. I am currently reading Around the world in 80 days by Jules Verne on my kindle, so the perfect setting!
I arrived Catania at 21:40 where Antonio picked me up and brought me to the B&B directly in city center. After check-in he showed me the main square and some important buildings in town. And the highlight per se: Aranchinos, a wonderful rice-ball stuffed with gorgeous ingredients!
But now off to bed and recharging batteries.
